The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones. Arguably the greatest rock & roll band of all time. Amazingly, this band, including Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, still performs to this day.

I found a beat up and torn copy of an old record by The Rolling Stones in my Dad’s collection this afternoon. This album was called “Flowers”. What a great record. Unlike the last two records I’ve listened to, this album had a very upbeat ’60’s sound, along with a few ballads. It included some famous Stones classics: “Ruby Tuesday”, “Let’s Spend the Night Together”, and “Mother’s Little Helper”, as well as many other great songs. I really liked the songs “Out of Time” and a cover of the Smokey Robinson classic “My Girl”.

Released in 1967, “Flowers” was a compilation album of released singles and unreleased tracks from previous recording sessions. The album cover shows each band member as a flower. It is said that Keith Richards deliberately left out the leaves from guitarist Brian Jones’ flower stem as a prank.

Love the Stones. This album is a great one too, my dad owns it and I’ve played it a bunch.
